The Out-Reach Team epitomizes the fulfillment of the First Baptist Church
Transformation Ministries vision by seeking to save the lost
in our served community of Charlottesville. The Out-Reach Team ministries,
like Jesus Christ, attempts to meet the people where they live and to satisfy
their physical and immediate needs before addressing their spiritual needs.
If they are hungry, give them something to eat. If they are thirsty, give
them something to drink. If they need clothes, clothe them. The Out-Reach
Team consists of the following ministries:
Missionary Society Ministry. The Missionary Society reminds the
church of its missionary obligation by encouraging study in missionary
education. It allows the church to fulfill its missionary obligation by
contributing to missions and supporting the work of the Baptist General
Convention.
Soup Kitchen. The First Baptist Church Soup Kitchen serves lunch
to various members of the community, including those who are homeless,
on every Tuesday of the week during October and April from 12 noon to 1
p.m.
Street Ministry. This ministry reaches into the community seeking the lost
where they live. It shares the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the local neighborhood
to all persons regardless of socio-economic status, race, gender, ethnicity or
religion.
Prison Ministry. This ministry reaches into the prison facilities bring the
gospel and ministering to the inmates.
